World Emoji Day - Fouvty

Today is the day of these baby emojis that help us in chat, post and comment. Jeremy Burge, the founder of EmojiPedia, chose July 17 to celebrate Emoji Day


Emoji have been around since 1995. Emojis started with the little icon in the shape of a heart in Japan before smartphones. These became hugely popular in a short period of time. Later emojis of various shapes and forms began to appear on the field.

The word 'emoji' also comes from Japan. 'E' means picture and 'Moji' means letter in Japanese.

The term emoticon, which means facial expressions, is also used interchangeably with emoji.

Emoji are usually helpful when people are afraid that they will not be able to describe them in words or that they will be thicker than intended. But emojis have become an add-on to anything
